Deputies were dispatched to the address in reference to a weapons infraction. Deputies were advised that an unknown suspect(s) shot two rounds at the residence. One round struck a pickup truck parked at the location. The second round struck the residence and penetrated into the house. This investigation is ongoing at this time.

Location: Airport Road and Paseo Del Sol, Santa Fe
Arrested: Emmanuel Velasquez Maldonado, 27 YOA male, Santa Fe
Deputies observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and unable to maintain its lane of travel. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Deputies observed signs of impairment on the driver. The driver was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.
Case # 2023006781 Unattended death 11-19-23

Location: Ranchitos Road (Edgewood/ Sandia Park)
Deceased: 75 yoa male Richard Plante
SFRECC dispatched deputies to the above listed address. Upon arrival the victim was located deceased and was found to have several illnesses. He was also suffering from a recent Pneumonia infection. No signs of foul play were located.

Deputies responded to a Welfare Check. The reporting party advised he found his friend with a gunshot wound to his head. Deputies arrived and upon investigation deemed the incident to be a suicide. There was no signs of foul play.

Between the time of September to October, the reporting party advised, she fell victim to fraud. The reporting party transferred $581,000.00 to a fraudulent tech support, thinking that she was keeping money safe from hackers. The reporting party has since then closed that account.
