Location: 1700 Block of US 84/285, Santa Fe, NM

Damaged/Stolen:Vehicle lock. Front Loader Lights (Value $1,000)

Deputies were dispatched to the above location in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, it was learned the suspect(s) unlawfully entered the property and forced entry into a vehicle by damaging the driver's side lock. The suspect (s) then took two lights from an adjacent vehicle. 


Case#2024001201 Unattended Death 03-05-24

Assigned: R. Blea 

Entering: Sgt. E. Webb Jr. 

Deceased; 72 yoa male (Santa Fe)

Location: Shasta Lane (Santa Fe)

Deputies responded to an unresponsive person. Upon arrival medics advised, they had located a male and attempted life saving measures which were unsuccessful. Investigation revealed the male suffered from medical issues and had left the hospital earlier in the day against medical advice. No signs of foul play were located. OMI came to the scene and took custody of the individual who had passed away. 


Case #2024001198 Warrant Arrest 03-06-24

Assigned: Michael Olivas 

Entering: Sgt. E. Webb Jr. 

Arrested: Jeff Padilla 63 yoa male (Santa Fe) 

Location: 300 Block of Old Las Vegas 

Subject was located after he was described as a suspicious person parked in a driveway. Subject was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Santa Fe Magistrate Court for failing to appear on felony charges. Subject was arrested and booked without incident. Investigation revealed the subjects vehicle had overheated. 


Case#2024001178/Unattended Death/3-5-24

Handling Deputy: J. Barron

Entering Commander: Corporal D. Martinez

Address: Caminito Tranquillo

Decedent: 73 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a male who was found in the bathroom, not conscious and not breathing. While enroute, the reporting party updated dispatch that they have a Do Not Resuscitate Order in hand. Upon arrival and investigation, the Decedent suffered from multiple ailments which ultimately resulted in his death. There were signs of foul play.


2024001166 / Warrant service / 03-04-2024

Deputy assigned: J. Rivera

Commander entering: Cpl. J.War

Location: 225 Montezuma Ave Santa Fe, NM (1st Judicial Court)

Arrested: Gonzalo Rubio-Terrazas 57YOM

Subject appeared to check in with pre-trial services. A warrant was issued for failing to comply. Subject was placed under arrest, transported and booked into Santa Fe County Jail without incident. 


Case#2024001138/Warrant arrest/3-3-24

Handling Deputy: A. Gallardo

Entering Commander: Corporal D. Martinez

Address: Los Pinos/Tierra Hermosa Ct

Arrestee: Jose Nava 38 YOM

Deputy A. Gallardo conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Nava, it was discovered he had a valid warrant for his arrest. The warrant was for failing to appear on original charge of False Reporting. Mr. Nava was arrested without incident.  


Case #2024001131 / Criminal Damage, Resisting/Evading, License Plate Lamp - 3/2/2024

Deputy Assigned: C. Lattin

Commander Entering: Cpl. A. Hancock 

Location: Rufina Street & Richard Ave 

Arrested: Valene Hernandez (40 YO)

Deputies conducted a traffic stop. Contact was made with the driver who had an active warrant for her arrest. During apprehension, suspect began to actively resist and while in the patrol unit, damaged a panel inside the back of the vehicle due to kicking it. Subject was charged accordingly. 


Case #2024001128/Aggravated DWI/03-02-2024

Deputy Assigned: M. Ward

Commander Entering: Sgt. O. McCartney

Location: Cerrillos Road/Cristos Road, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Shane Romee, 50 YOM (Colorado)

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, deputies made contact with the above individual during a checkpoint operation. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and he consented to SFSTs. Signs of impairment were noted and he was placed under arrest. The driver was read the NM Implied Consent Advisory and he refused to provide a breath sample. The driver was transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center where he was booked accordingly and without incident.

 


Case#20240001116/Identity Theft/3-2-24

Victim: 71 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a report of ID theft. Upon contact with the Victim, an unknown person opened a Lowes credit card account in his name. This occured in 2021. The Victim has already contacted a lawer to get this resolved and only needed the incident to be documented. 


Case 2024001114 DUI/Roadways laned for traffic

Arrested Jose Panas 31yom (Truchas, NM)

Traffic stop was conducted on vehicle. Contact was made and driver agreed to SFST's. Driver showed signs of impairment and was paced under arrest. Driver agreed to chemical testing and results were 0.13g/210L-0.13g/210L. Driver booked into SFADC with out incident.
