Arrestee: Joshua Valencia 39YOM

Deputies were dispathed to a female who was experiencing a mental breakdown. While on scene, contact was made with Mr. Valencia who was found to have a valid warrant for his arrest. The warrant was for failing to appear on original charge of Careless Driving. Mr. Valencia was arrested without incident.  


Case#2024000662/Breaking and Entering-Trespassing/2-5-24

Address: 125 Camino De Roberto 

Victim: Santa Fe County

Arrestee: Carlos Gallegos 46 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with Mr. Gallegos who admitted to Deptuy Dillinger that he did enter the premise without permission and also knew that he was trespassed. Mr. Gallegos gained access through a rear bedroom window. Mr. Gallegos was arrested without incident. 


Case #2024000650 - Unattended Death, 2/5/2024

Deceased: Leon Ortiz (58 YO) 

Location: Feather Catcher (Pojoaque)

Deputies were dispatched to the address due to a male who was not conscious and not breathing. They arrived on scene and the victim showed obvious signs of death. There were no signs of foul play. 


Case#2024000639/Unattended Death/2-4-2024

Handling Deputy: F. Trujillo

Entering Commander: Corporal D. Martinez

Address: Placita Road

Decedent: 50 YOM

 The above victim was located by his son not conscious not breathing in his room. The decedent suffered from several medical ailments. Lifesaving procedures were performed by Santa Fe County Paramedics and no signs of life were located. OMI was contacted and the passing appeared to be of natural causes.


Case#2024000631/Receiving, Transferring Stolen Motor Vehicle/2-3-2024

Handling Deputy: D. Tewa

Address: Cities of Gold Road

Arrestee: Stacy Sanchez 59 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to the Cities of Gold Casino in reference to a located stolen motor vehicle. Officers with the Pojoaque Police Department located a stolen motor vehicle and had one male detained. Upon contact with the male, Mr. Sanchez he advised he bought the vehicle. The vehicle however was still listed in N.C.I.C. as stolen by the registered owner. Mr. Sanchez was arrested and charged accordingly.  


Case#2024000626/Identity Theft/2-3-2024

Address: Calle Ancla 

Victim: 50Deputies were dispatch to a report of Identity Theft. Upon contact with the Victim, she advised she received a letter in the mail, idicating that she owed 3,536 dollars. The Victim advised it was from Capitol One and added, she has never had a credit card or finances through Capitol One. No suspect information is available at this time.  


Case#2024000623/Unlawful Taking of Motor Vehicle-Larceny/2-3-2024

Handling Deputy: C. Podolak

Address: Avenida De Clotilde

Victim: 59YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon contact with the Victim, they discovered the Victim let an Yvette Garduno stay with him. Ms. Garduno spent the evening with the Victim but when the Victim woke up, his vehicle was missing. Additonal items that were left in the Victim's pant poackets were also discovered to be missing. The Victim does not have any other information for Ms. Garduno to identify her. The vehicle has been entered into NCIC. 


Case#2024000625/Unlawful Taking of Motor Vehicle/2-3-2024

Address: Las Estrellas, Santa Fe County

Victim: 31 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to report of a stolen vehicle. Upon investigation, an unknown person(s) stole the Victim's vehicle. The theft occurred sometime between the hours of 1:00am and 9:00am this date. The vehicle is yet to be entered into NCIC as the victim has not registered it. 


Case #202400621 Aggravated DWI, Roadways laned for traffic

Location: 171 Mile Marker US 84/285, Santa Fe

Arrested: Oswaldo Sanchez, 42 YOA male, Santa Fe

Deputies observed a vehicle failing to maintain a single lane of travel. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest. The driver refused to submit to a breath test. The driver was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility accordingly.


Case#2024000618/Aggravated Battery/02-02-2024

Assigned: M. Sanchez

Entering: Sgt. C Valencia

Location: US 84/285 and La Puebla Road, Santa Fe, NM

Victim: 20YOM, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the above location in reference to an aggravated battery. Upon arrival, it was learned the victim was in his vehicle and stopped at the stop light. While waiting at the stop light, an older male with a beard pulled up next to the victim and began to yell. The suspect then reached over and sprayed pepper spray inside the victim's vehicle, hitting him in the eye and causing temporary blindness. The suspect left north.
