County Receives Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for 7th Consecutive Year!

We are ecstatic to report that Santa Fe County has once again received the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the County’s Fiscal Year 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Santa Fe County would like to congratulate our Finance Division on this great accomplishment! The GFOA has awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting to Santa Fe County for its CAFR in fiscal years 2011 through 2017.

“The compilation of the CAFR for audit is an immense team effort, and I am so proud of the work that Finance and Purchasing do all year long to ensure our transactions and financial statements hold up to heavy audit scrutiny,” said Stephanie Schardin Clarke, Santa Fe County Finance Director.

Santa Fe County annually produces a CAFR, which contains detailed financial information that allows the public to assess the strong financial health and internal control environment of the County. Additionally, it conforms with generally accepted accounting principles for government, and the requirements of the New Mexico Office of the State Auditor. The CAFR is audited annually by an external independent auditor.
