Emergency Funding for Home Damage Due to Freezing Weather
EMERGENCY FUNDING FOR FREEZE DAMAGE
Santa Fe – March 4, 2011 - Santa Fe County would like to communicate to residents the North Central New Mexico Economic Development District has provided information for a Emergency Home Repair program for low-income homeowners effected by severe weather and extreme cold.
The U.S. House and Urban Development (HUD) Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is funding the program and it is implemented by the Department of Finance Administration.
This is a reimbursement program for repairs to water pipes, water heaters or furnaces damaged due to the recent record freezing temperatures.
The damage must have taken place after February 1, 2011
Deadline to apply March 18, 2011 at 5 p.m.
Funding is limited
Grant is limited to $2,000 per household for repairs
Reimbursements will be accepted for those homeowners that have incurred emergency waterline replacement, water heater and/or furnace repair costs not exceeding $2,000 on or after February 1, 2011. Must provide copies of receipts and copies of checks of payment to the licensed contractor (include copy of contractors license).
